1990 Honda Accord Sports Light Issues? lately a few days out of the week my sports light will flash steady when I hit bumps or something and then stop when I turn the car off and turn it back on. It doesn't happen everyday just some days. Well yesterday the sports light lit up for about 2 seconds (it didn't flash as usual it just stayed lit ) until I took my foot off the gas and the light went out and it didn't come back on for the rest of the day. When the light stayed lit it felt as if the car wasn't accelerating at all at the time the light was on and when the light went off it accelerated normally. Now this doesn't happen when the sports light is flashing. Has anyone experienced this problem before or know what it could be? It's my only car and at this moment I don't have to money to get a new one so I have to patch things up as long as I can. Please help thanks! car insurance.

Chevrolet . How to Prevent Love Bugs From Sticking to Your Car Paint

Lovebugs, or March flies, as they are also known, are indigenous insects to the southeastern region of the United States and in Central America, primarily around the Gulf Coast. They are also the bane of every auto owner in these areas. In fact, during the two annual lovebug seasons, no car seems to be safe from the swarm of insects that smash onto cars on the highway. More than just a nuisance, removing lovebugs from a car's exterior can cause damage to the paint job.
Difficulty:Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Soapy water
Sponge
Paint or wax
Window cleaner
Hose
Mesh grill netting
Cooking spray or baby oil
Dryer sheets

Step by Step :
1
Wash the exterior of your car thoroughly before the start of the lovebug seasons in mid-spring and early fall. Use a soapy water solution and a soft sponge on the car's exterior. Clean the windows thoroughly, as fatty tissue from lovebugs can form a smudgy layer on the windshield. Clean your windows periodically during lovebug season as well.
2
Paint or wax your car after your thorough pre-lovebug season cleaning. Fresh paint or wax will create a slippery coating that will prevent lovebugs from getting stuck to your car.
3
Spray a layer of oil-based cooking spray or baby oil to the plastic and painted parts of your side windows and handles. Because a good defense is your best offense, this is your best bet at keeping lovebugs from sticking to your paint.
4
Purchase a mesh netting and attach it to the front grill of your car. The instructions for attaching this netting should be included with the manufacturer's packaging. This will help prevent lovebugs from coming in contact with your paint in this very bug-prone area.
5
Use a hose or water gun to deter lovebugs from hovering around your car. You can also use this hose to gently blast away any dead lovebugs that have become stuck to your car. You can also wet a dryer sheet with warm water and lightly rub away dead lovebugs. This will remove the bugs without damaging your paint job.

Chevrolet . How to Take Scuff Marks Off of Car Paint

If your car has scuff marks or scratches in the paint, you can take your car to a body shop or you can get the equipment to buff out the scuffs yourself. Doing it yourself requires some physical labor, so be ready to have sore muscles if you have not done this before. It may also take a few tries before you are comfortable enough to try it on your car. You may want to use a test panel first to get the hang of buffing scuff marks out of your car paint.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
1/2 sheet, 2000-grit sandpaper
Sponge pad
Spray bottle filled with water
Rubbing compound
Buffer pad
Clean towel

Step by Step :
1
Wash your car. If there is dirt on the car, it could scratch the paint more. The buffer pad will pick up the dirt.
2
Spray clean water on the scuffed area. Wrap 1/2 sheet of 2000-grit sandpaper around a sponge pad. With a back-and-forth motion, sand the affected area. Spray with water frequently, keeping both the sandpaper and the scuffed area wet. Frequently rinse the area. Sand until the scuffs are almost gone. If you hear a squeaking sound, you may have grit between the paper and surface. Rinse well if you have grit locked between the paper and the car.
3
Apply rubbing compound to the sanded area. Spread the rubbing compound around with the buffer pad, making sure not to turn the buffer on yet.
4
Turn the buffer on to slow speed so that the rubbing compound is not thrown from the surface. Buff at 2,000 RPM for a couple of minutes, and you'll see a haze appear on the paint. Continue buffing until the area is shiny.
5
Wash the newly buffed area with a clean towel or wash your car as you would normally.
Tips & Warnings
Wipe off all rubbing compound with a cloth. Paper towels are too abrasive.

You may want to cover niche areas with masking tape. If you get any rubbing compound on areas that may be difficult to clean, use a toothbrush immediately to get it off.

Don't let the buffer stay in one spot.

Finesse is better than force.

The techniques used to paint the body of a car can vary, depending on the size of the area you're working on and the original paint and finish. Many vehicles are painted with processes that require special primers, layers of dif ferent colors, metallic flake, and special clear coats after the color is laid on. Repainting such a vehicle can be difficult for professionals and absolutely dis astrous for a novice. Unless you have an experienced and steady hand (and the car's original paint has not faded or changed color since it was new), concealing that you repainted anything larger than a small area is almost impossible. Larger areas require spray-painting, which must be done in a well-ventilated area that's free from dust and dirt. A good spray gun can cost a lot — not to mention the air compressor used to power the gun — and a spray gun can wreak havoc if it runs amok in inexperienced hands. So if the area you need to paint is large, it will probably cost you less in time, money, and effort to have the job done by a professional who can match the paint and do the job right. .Chapter 24: Getting Rid of Dings, Dents, and Other Hard Knocks Never attempt to do a major paint job on a good car without trying your hand on an old wreck first. If you fail to prepare and prime the surface properly, the new paint will peel, blister, or flake away before long. If you practice on a junker, you can afford to make mistakes — because even a bad paint job can increase the resale value of a car that's practically worthless to begin with. If you want a cheap but decent job that will last a year or so, find out where local car dealers take the used cars they get as trade-ins to have them spiffed up before resale. To save money, you can remove any rust, spot-fill and paint the small areas yourself, and then have the rest of the job done professionally. Of course, if even a cheapo job is beyond your budget, doing your best with a can of spray paint is certainly better than simply letting a vehicle rust away. 1082 Car Insurance 1994 acura legend lssedan4d 322230

On the other hand, touching up a small spot with a little bottle of touch-up paint is easy. Before you start the job, mask the surrounding area well and use even, sweeping strokes to apply the paint. (Follow the directions on the can carefully.) Practice on a piece of scrap metal before you tackle the car, and don't expect the results to look terrific. 1. To find the right paint color you need, look on the firewall of your car — you should see a little plate with the body number and paint code number on it. If you can't find the paint code number, consult your owner's manual or ask your mechanic or car dealer to point it out to you. 2. Buy a little bottle of touch-up paint that matches the code number at the parts department of a dealership representing the auto-maker that produced your vehicle. If that's not possible, try a professional auto paint supply house. They're also often good sources of semiprofessional advice. If neither source is available, your local auto supply store should have a chart that indicates the proper paint to match your car's make, model, and year. These little bottles of paint usually come with a brush or applicator in them. You also need a small bottle of primer, unless the paint specifies that it doesn't require it. 3. Make sure that the area is rust-free. If the damage is only a deep scratch or a tiny spot, you may need just a dab of rust arrestor to stop the rust from continuing to form under the new paint. If the area is any larger, you must remove all the rust carefully, following the directions in the earlier section called "Dealing with any rust you find." 4. Sand the spot carefully with a tiny bit of #220 sandpaper to rough up the surface so that the primer adheres properly. Work in teeny dabs, feathering the edges and working inward from the surrounding area to avoid enlarging the spot.

Chevrolet . If the voltage is 90 and the resistance is 6 ohms what is the current flow?

500 Part V: He| ing Your Car Look lts Best p 5. Wash the area thoroughly to remove any rust arrester, dust, dirt, filler residue, and wax; then let the area dry completely before you go any further. Primer is used to seal the surface of the metal against rust (caused by air and moisture) and to provide a surface for the paint to adhere to. Primer also fills in tiny holes and imperfections in the surface. The paint then protects the primer from the sun, dust, and heavy weather. And, as you know, wax protects the paint. If you're dealing with a surface scratch or a chip that hasn't gone down to the bare metal, you can probably get away with simply applying the paint. But never apply paint to bare metal. If any metal is exposed, or if the spot is larger than a fraction of an inch, prime the area first. 6. Use a tiny brush or a matchstick to apply the primer sparingly. You shouldn't need more than a drop to cover the damaged area. Avoid getting primer on the original paint. If you do, wipe it off immediately. Let the primer dry thoroughly before going on with the job. If you used glazing putty to fill the dent, you can probably paint right on top of it without priming first. 7. Mix the paint in the bottle thoroughly to blend the color pigments properly. Unless your car is very new, the color probably won't match exactly (which is another reason for keeping the area as small as possible). The paint on new cars doesn't fade as quickly or badly as old paints did.

8. Apply the paint, covering the surface of the spot completely, working inward from the edges. If you're painting a scratch or a very small area, you can cut down the brush or use a matchstick or toothpick instead. The paint should be no thicker than the surrounding surface or it will show, run, bubble, or peel off. 9. Wait several days for everything to dry completely, and then polish the car to blend in the painted area and bring everything to a high gloss. 10. Give the car a coat of wax or polymer to protect your hard work. Chapter 23 has instructions for polishing and waxing.
